Biography

Dr. Hesham El Marsafawy is the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Gulf University in Bahrain.

He has obtained his Ph.D. at Duisburg-Essen University (Germany) in Healthcare Design. Dr. El Marsafawy taught at different universities in Egypt, Turkey and Bahrain; he has professional, teaching, and research experience in fields related to Design of Built-Environment, Product Design, and Human Factors/Ergonomics.

Dr. El Marsafawy has comprehensive experience and research interest in developing universities’ strategic plan, quality assurance system, policies, procedures and designing academic programs.

Also, he has distinguished initiatives towards the development of university campus and educational environments with sound impact on the performance and satisfaction of students and staff.

Dr. El Marsafawy attended and presented his research at international conferences in France, Spain, UK, Hungry and Germany.

He has been in management positions since 2010 such as Director of Quality Assurance and Development, Assistant to the President for Planning and Development, College Dean and Department Chairman.
